The Experience From Beginning to End

Our program encourages exploration and creativity while facilitating meaningful discussions. Students and visitors have the opportunity to engage with the art exhibition at their own pace, with the help of expert educators who use art to teach critical and creative thinking. Art-making activities are also included to help visitors connect the exhibition to their personal lives.

01: Theatrical Introduction

First, we incorporate movement, mindfulness, and essential questions about overarching concepts such as, "What is a museum?" and "How are we artists?"

02: Explore the Museum

As students board the bus, we give them a prompt to use as they explore the museum, such as a paintbrush, viewfinder, or scavenger hunt to find works of art made with that same art instrument.

03: Discuss Artwork

For deeper insight, we ask students questions related to what they think is going on in different works of art and why. We use a range of learning modalities to facilitate discussion based on the needs of each  student.

04: Read and Relate

We engage students in a read-aloud and paired art-making activity to extend their learning experiences.

05: Create Art

Drawing connections to the artwork we just discussed, we encourage students to tap into their imagination and create their own works of art.

06: Reflect

To help students digest their experience, we create space to share their art and recall information from the experience to connect it back to the essential questions we introduced in the beginning, such as, “What is a museum?”
